Chris signing at the Oni booth at Comic-Con (first book signing)

Chris with Capote In Kansas writer (and our dear friend) Ande Parks
Five years ago, Capote In Kansas
Thank you to everyone who has supported Chris these last five years and especially to those that were there five years ago. Special, special thanks to Ande Parks, Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt for being so kind to Chris so early in his career and Oni Press for taking a chance on an unknown artist. We are so lucky to be where we are today, surrounded by so many amazing friends and fans.

You two are so cute! Congratulations to both of you for all that you have achieved! I look forward to seeing more successful stories from the two of you!
i remember that sweet fresh-faced kid. still unmarred and unjaded by the horrors of a career in comics.
It's on my shelf. first one I got after finding C's blog. Great book!
Thanks Sarena! :)
So true, Tony. He's grown the beard since to cover the jadedness. :)
Thanks Alan, it's still my favorite book he's done. :)
Wow,that was my first SDCC. I picked up Capote there ( I can't remember if I actually met Chris or not) and then sadly left a bag of comics in my hotel room that had Capote, Northwest Passage and some other awesome comics in it. I was so pissed when I got home.
Huh, I wonder if your paths did cross. Stinks to hear you left the books - Northwest Passage is another one of my favorites!
Awww, Laura--this is such a terrific post! Finally getting to see you and your man in real life (well sorta!). You two are adorable! My husband (who has read "the comics" as I refer to them--since the printing press was invented)-really enjoys Chris's work, too! Really happy I found Lunch Notes!
