poor bebe (and me!)

While Chris is far too professional to complain on his blog, I am not, so here goes. When Chris was finishing up Capote in Kansas (about two years ago exactly), his last week on the book he had to pencil and ink 11 pages in 7 days to have the book ready for the San Diego Comic-con. For about a week, he was getting an hour of sleep and working the other 23 on the book. The last few days he was actually soaking his drawing hand in ice water so he could numb the pain enough to keep going. I was so stressed out as Chris became a haggard, sleep deprived mess that I started having anxiety attacks at work and developed an eye twitch. This week Chris attempts to pencil 12 pages in 5 days to make a deadline (which his editor has kindly offered to extend, but other obligations will make that impossible to take her up on). While he is actually sleeping about two and a half hours a night right now and I have yet to develop the eye twitch again, I have come down with a headace so massive and persistent that not even Starbucks and lots of advil will take care of it. And so continues my day of self pity. Please feel sorry for me.
